[HIDE] Requirements:
  • Phone number ( can be your own )
    VCC
    Able to follow instructions

You ALSO have a 30 day trial to test everything else on Oracle, e.g. you can test 16CPU and 96GB ram if you like, but it will only last 30 days.

How can they do this?
Oracle can do whatever it wants, it is 37th biggest company in the world, worth over $260 Billion. The CEO is top 10 richest person in the world. They simply want young developers and engineers to choose their more expensive systems when they grow up to become managers, and they do this by getting you hooked when you're young with this free tier stuff.

Instructions:

BASIC SIGN UP AND SETUP

Go to google and search up Oracle Free Cloud Tier or click on this link:https://www.oracle.com/cloud/free/
Press "Start for free"
Go to thru this process of signing up.
Once you're logged click on the Get started tab.
Click "Create a VM instance"
Give it a name whatever.
Click edit next to the "Image and shape"
Change image, change it to whatever you like.
You can see down under the pictures, Platform Images. Select Windows or Oracle Linux or whichever one you need.
Scroll down to Shape
By default we have an AMD micro, (P.S you can use any but for the sake of this tutorial) choose Ampere ( it has more options for CPU and memory and change it to the max)
SSH KEY SETUP
  • Scroll down where it says "Add SSH keys" and select "Paste public keys"
    Download PuTTy from putty.org
It comes with a lot of apps but the first one we want to use is PuTTygen
Click generate and wait for it
Copy it and save the private key somewhere.
Save the public key as well
    Paste in the key
    Click create.
It will say provisioning just be patient and wait till it says Running.
Open PuTTY ( Putty Configuration ) put in your username in "Host name (or IP Address)" then your ip address of the VPS as well.
    Example:[emailprotected]
    Select connection type SSH
Save it as whatever you'd like.
In the left scroll down a bit and click on SSH and the box next to it.
    Click "Auth"
Click browse and find where ever you saved your private key and import it.
Go back to the "Session" tab.
    Save it once again.
CONNECTING VIA SSH ( Linux 8 pretty much same for Windows except the sudo commands )

NOTE: If you selected Windows you're all good to go.

Click "Open" once you're done with the steps above.
Type these commands:

Code:
Code:[/HIDE]
sudo -i

Code:
Code:
yum update -y

Once it's done, you have a VPS.
